The Rise of a Radio Maestro. Abeiku Santana’s Journey to Success.

Abeiku Santana, a household name in Ghanaian radio and entertainment, has built an impressive career through hard work and dedication. Born in Koforidua, Eastern Region of Ghana, Santana’s educational background is a testament to his passion for learning.

Santana’s academic journey began at Nana Kwaku Boateng Experimental School in Koforidua, followed by Ghana National College in Cape Coast for his Ordinary Level certificate. He then attended Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua for his Advanced Level certificate.

Not stopping there, Santana pursued higher education at the University of Cape Coast, earning a Master’s degree in Tourism Management. He also holds a Post Graduate degree in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, an Associate in Legal Studies and Litigation from the New York Paralegal School, and an Advanced Certificate in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Today, Santana is a respected leader in Ghana’s radio and entertainment industry. His extensive education and experience have established him as a trusted voice and influencer. Currently pursuing another Master’s degree at the University of Ghana Business School, Santana continues to demonstrate his commitment to lifelong learning and growth.

Santana’s media career spans over three decades, with a trajectory marked by steady growth and achievement. He began as Assistant Programs Manager at Radio Z in Koforidua, before moving to Radio Mercury, where he served as Deputy Programs Manager from 1991 to 2001.

In 2001, Santana joined Ash FM 101.1 in Kumasi as a radio drive time host, a position he held until 2002. That same year, he joined the Multimedia Broadcasting Group as a radio host for Adom FM’s drive time show, “Ofie Kwan So.” His talent and dedication quickly earned him additional responsibilities, including Head of Music Programs and Events Promotion Coordinator, a role he held until 2010.

In 2010, Santana joined the Despite Media Group’s Okay FM, where he continues to host his popular show, “Ekwanso Dwodwo.” His influence and reach have made him a household name in Ghana.

Santana’s contributions to the media industry and society have not gone unnoticed. He was appointed as an ambassador for the COVID-19 National Trust Fund, a testament to his commitment to public service and community engagement.

Through his career, Santana has demonstrated a passion for excellence, a dedication to his craft, and a commitment to giving back to his community. He remains a respected figure in Ghana’s media landscape, inspiring a new generation of broadcasters and media professionals

So, Abeiku Santana has had an amazing career in radio and TV. He’s won some big awards, like the RTP Personality Of The Year award in 2021. He was also nominated for the PAV Ansah Communicator Award in 2019 and won a Special Recognition Award for Tourism Marketing and Promotion in 2020.

He’s done a great job of promoting tourism in Ghana and has become a household name in the country. He’s still working hard and achieving great things in his career.

Abeiku Santana is married to Genevieve Benyiwah Aggrey, but before that, he was married to someone else and they got divorced. It’s not uncommon for people to have multiple marriages, and it’s great that he’s found love again with Genevieve. Let’s hope they have a happy and fulfilling life together!
