Church Leaders Must Support Church Instrumentalists And Needy Members, Says Uncle Ato

Legendary Ghanaian Gospel musician Uncle Ato has passionately appealed to church leaders to provide incentives and support to instrumentalists, singers, and vulnerable members within their congregations. In an interview on Showbiz 360, Uncle Ato emphasized the biblical imperative to remunerate laborers fairly.

Citing 1 Corinthians 9 and Matthew 10, he stressed that church leaders have a moral obligation to ensure those serving the Lord are not left wanting. “The scripture is clear: no soldier goes to war at their own expense, and the laborer deserves their pay.”

Uncle Ato shared his personal approach, providing for church members despite not being able to offer a monthly salary. He highlighted the stark reality that some church musicians struggle with basic needs, such as food and shelter.

He challenged churches to reevaluate priorities, questioning why they can donate to external charities while neglecting their own members. “If we can support orphanages and the needy on the streets, why not those contributing to the church’s growth?”

Uncle Ato’s plea seeks to address exploitation and promote a culture of care within churches, recognizing the valuable contributions of musicians and vulnerable members.
