Bawumia Pledges Continued Support for Farmers if Elected President

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting cocoa farmers if he becomes President. Addressing party supporters in the Asunafo South Constituency, Western North Region, Dr. Bawumia highlighted the significant increase in cocoa prices under the NPP government, from GHC475 to 3,000 Ghana cedis per bag.

He emphasized that his administration will continue to empower farmers, building on the existing initiatives. “We have implemented various projects, including Agenda 111 and the Zongo Development Fund, and we will introduce new policies to further support farmers,” Dr. Bawumia assured.

As part of his vision, Dr. Bawumia aims to:

– Sustain Cocoa Price Increases: Maintain the increased cocoa prices to benefit farmers.
– Complete Agenda 111: Fulfill the project’s objectives to enhance healthcare infrastructure.
– Enhance Farmer Support: Introduce new policies to bolster farmer development.

By renewing his commitment to farmers, Dr. Bawumia demonstrates his focus on agricultural development and the well-being of Ghana’s farming communities
