Police Arrest 18 More Suspects Over Electoral Violence in Parts of the Country

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of 18 additional suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into electoral violence, looting, and property damage in various parts of the country. This latest development brings the total number of suspects arrested to 30.

 

 

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended as part of intelligence-led operations aimed at bringing perpetrators to justice. Unfortunately, one of the suspects succumbed to injuries after being shot by an accomplice during the attack. Additionally, an Electoral Commission (EC) officer who sustained injuries is receiving medical treatment.

 

 

The police have urged the public to remain calm, assuring that officers have been deployed to key locations to intensify patrols and maintain law and order. The investigation is ongoing, with the police working to apprehend other perpetrators and ensure they face justice.
